The Difference between SIP and VoIP
You may think that SIP and VoIP are the same, and you have probably heard people use the words interchangeably, however, they are not the same thing.
VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol and refers to calls that are made over the internet rather than on the telephone. It works by taking analogue voice signals, converting them into digital signals, and sending the data over your broadband line to the destination.
VoIP had a large group of protocol technologies, of which SIP is one of the protocols that enable VoIP.
